Condition Terminology

The descriptions are as complete and detailed as practical to give you a realistic idea of each item and its condition. Most of the items offered for sale show some signs of use, however, customers regularly report that their purchases look much better than they expected from reading the descriptions.

NEW: This only applies to reproductions.

LIKE NEW: In virtually new condition. This is a rarity and only applies to watches or clocks in pristine condition, which is something you rarely find.

EXCELLENT: In much better than average condition with virtually no significant flaws. You will usually get a more accurate timepiece in this category.

VERY GOOD: Shows some signs of use but in better than average condition. Cases show little signs of wear, but not significantly. This may vary though, e.g. one part may be in excellent shape, and the other is in lesser shape. So the balance would be considered to be in very good condition. Restorations, if any, are of high quality and not obvious.

GOOD: In average condition with signs of use consistent with its age. Restorations may be obvious.

FAIR: In worse than average condition. May be poorly restored or not restored at all. We rarely carry items in this shape, and only do if they have some unusual characteristic.

Unless noted otherwise:
All watches & clocks are in good running order consistent with their age and design.
