This beautiful and very unusual Gustav Becker clock was made circa 1887 and
is a very rare piece indeed!! The clock measures 18.5" wide and broad,
and is 4.5" deep. The dial
is brass with two faces looking away from each other at the 3:00 and
the 9:00 positions. The hands are also brass and there is a single winding hole.
The case truly amazes me, as I have never seen such a tastefully ornate clock! I can honestly say
that I've never seen anything like it in any of my books or anywhere else! I think that the
pictures at the bottom of the auction do the best job of describing the clock, as words
truly fail with a clock of this nature.
The clock runs for 8 days, was just cleaned and oiled, and is keeping very
good time. This unique piece is quite a find and would really add to any
clock collection, especially if the collector was interested in Gustav Becker!!
But no matter whose home or office this clock should end up enhancing, it will truly
make a statement of its own and provide the owner with a feeling of pride.

The price for this piece is $695.00.
