Gold...or Gold-Filled Case? Read Further to See More About The Controversy.

Hello, and thank you
for taking the time to look at our listing!

This 18 size watch truly fills your hand when you hold it to tell the time, it has a nice smooth winding action to it, and it truly fills your hand, so you really feel like you're holding a watch and not just any watch, but a watch that's a century+ old!!. The Nickle movement has 15 Ruby jewels and is very nicely Damascened! And finally, the watch really has a very nice case, and it is really, a very nice case. Its Gold filled of course (I think), but there is no Brass that I can see using a 10x lens and there are no marks on the case that show it to be Gold-Filled. So it quite easily looks to be a true Gold case! So unless you really know what you are doing, there is no way to tell that the case is not Gold!! Hmmm, maybe I should take another look at that case...

No matter how hard I looked, how many references I could find, I never found anything to say if this watch is Gold or Gold-Filled! On the back cover, there might be brass showing through on the edges, or it just might be dirt. Actually, its even enough to just look like accents. Truly, if you are lucky enough to be the one who first finds this watch, I'm sure that you will question it yourself, in fact I just ordered a kit to test some items I'm really not too sure of, and this is one of them! But just to be safe, I'm going to call it Gold-Filled, which it probably is(?). But you never know! And I am not hiding anything. The picts I have shown you show everything. What it says in the inside of the back of the case, is all there is to see. Heck, this is almost like buying a Lottery Ticket, except if you loose in this case, you aren't losing, as you stil have a very nice watch. I'm starting to feel like I'm talking myself into keeping this watch for myself!

Finally, the watch runs very well, keeps very good time, is housed in a very attractive case, and all-in-all, is a very attractive piece! I have enjoyed owning it, and if you decide to buy it, I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as I did!!

Please be sure to look at the pictures at the end of the text to see more shots of the Pocket Watch!!

The price for this piece is $375.00
