Circa 1873

Model 1857, 15 Jewels, Foggs Patent

Great Shape!

Runs Well & Keeps Good Time

Dueber Silverine Case

Hello, and thank you
for taking the time to look at our listing!

The American (Waltham) Watch Company is better known as the Waltham Watch Company, but its very early watches used the American Watch Company name. The American Watch Company was established in 1851 and was in existance until 1957. So this watch was made 22 years after the company was established. Watches of this age and in this condition are very hard to find. So its truly a collectors piece!

There is nothing quite like the feel and heft of an old Pocket Watch. This watch has been with us for 133 years, weighs a very comfortable 5 ounces, is still ticking away very happily and is still keeping good time.

The silverine case is in very good shape considering its age. It has a very clean double sunk enameled dial with no chips, cracks, or hairlines at all, a very attractive and distintive matching set of hands, and is wound by lifting the back cover. The time is set from the front of the watch.

A watch like this, which is almost 7 generations old (!), would make a great addition to any collection. I was always very proud to wear this watch, just thinking of all of the years, people, and changes to the world it has been in existance through. Its like the old expression, if it could only talk.. Truly a watch with a proud history!

Please be sure to look at the pictures at the end of the text to see more shots of this Pocket Watch!!

The price for this piece is $425.00
