Hello, and thank you
for taking the time to look at our listing!
Just As A Note, The Watch Is Running Fine, Keeping Good Time, And Should Provide Many More Years Of Excellent Service!!
This watch was made by the Courvoisier & Company. From 1811 to circa 1835, the Courvoisier & Company had Offices in Paris,
Chaux-le-Fonds & Geneva. They also had exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, New York, as well as the
Mathematische Physikalische Salon, in Dresden, Germany. Quite an impresive start for a watch with a Flying Insect
on the front cover of the Hunters case, isn't it? But don't let looks fool you, it's the construction of a watch that counts!
This flat single sunk pocelain dial is IMMACULATE and is so clean that it's almost a snowy white dial! It's
single sunk for its second's bit and then the flat surface allows for the Chapter ring, which has Roman numerals, as most of the
older watches had.
Just look at the beautiful Hand Engraving on the front of this Coin Silver Hunter's Case! I think that
the case & its engraving were part of my favorite part of the case, especially when I pulled it out at a show!
Courvosier made very interesting use of the Pallet, Fork & Arbor! Instead of just making a Lever
Escapement, they actually created a A "Right Angle Lever Escapement" and for this escapement to work most effeciently,
they use a A Steel Escape Wheel! This also allows the escapement to have a longer running life. So far it's been in
exsitance for close to 2 Centuries! I wonder how much longer it'll exist for...
The Dust Cover shows that the watch is Fully Jeweled, which would be 15 jewels back then. It also shows
Courvosier & Co. in Geneva, which was the first of Courvosier's location (after 1852 they changed their location to Freres). It also
shows the Serial number as 12,610 & if I could find out how many watches they produced,
I could give you a more accurate year for when
the watch was made.
A better overall look at the back of the watch,
showing the Back Cover & the Dust Cover, and the Movement,
with a better look at the pallet, fork & arbor.
The watch has not been abused.
Take a good look at the back of this case.
This movement is in
Pristine condition,
as is the rest of the watch!
The inside of the back cover shows a stamp saying Argent,
which when translated, means "Silver".
A better picture of "Argent".
The inside of the back of the Case is marked
Courvosier & Co. - Warranted - Coin Silver.
I've owned over 1,000 Key Winds,
but this is the first Courvosier that I have ever seen.
Don't let this one pass you by!!

The price for this piece is $545.00

Well, that's all I can say. The Photos will tell you what you really want to know about the watch anyway, at least that's what
I focus on first!
This Pocket Watch would make a very nice gift to that special someone, even if that "special someone" is you and your
own collection!!
