Hello, And Thank You
For Taking The Time To Look At Our Listing!
Just As A Note, The Watch Is Running Fine, Keeping Good Time, And Should Provide Many More Years Of Excellent Service!!
The Dial is in Excellent shape! There are no hairlines, chips, cracks or any other mars that would distract from
the beauty of this dial. The dial is a nice Snowy White color, with Big, Black Roman Numerals, to make it easy to read. What a
Great Looking Dial!
With the bezel open, you see the exact same dial, showing you that even though there is an extra thick crystal,
that the crystal has no scratches or anything to distract from the beauty & clarity of the dial! On the rim of the case, as seen
when the bezel is open, you can see a number. The number is very hard to make out, but from what I can see it says,
"G.W.T. ADD'S PAT JUNE 11 67". So the case was patented on June 11, 1867 or roughly
a year before the watch was made.
As with all cases in good condition, any space between the covers is almost imperceptible! This picture shows you
the side of the watch with the extra thick crystal on top, so you can see the clarity of the crystal. There is no Brass showing
anywhere on the Case!
This picture shows you the side of the watch with the crystal on the bottom, just so you can see that
the lines of the case are all smooth and intact, the way they should be!
How does it feel to look at a movement that looks as good today as it did the day it was made,
roughly 141 years and 3 months ago?
The watch has not been abused.
Take a good look at this movement.
Except for one spot, about the size of a
Pin Head, this movement is in Pristine condition!
The Balance Wheel has such great speed that it's simply a blur! That's a sign of a well working
movement!!
The Dust Cover is in almost new condition. That is, except for the minor scuffs that you see, but
after 7 generations, what can you expect?
This shows the dust cover open, with the winding hole and the movement underneath.
The inside of the back of the case is in excellent condition and shows the markings on top of
"G.W.L.", who was most likely the case maker and the Case's serial number of 23939.
Finally, we have the back of the case. There are a couple very minor dents, but overall the case and the
engravings on the case are in very good condition!
Well, that's all I can say. The Photos will tell you what you really want to know about the watch anyway, at least that's what
I focus on first!
