Professional Opinion: Hamilton makes one heck of a good Railroad Watch! Here you have all of the elements that makes up a good Railroad watch, they are all working well, and then you have a Montgomery Dial to top it all off, so what else can you ask for?? Especially at this price?

Hello, And Thank You
For Taking The Time To Look At Our Listing!

Just As A Note, The Watch Is Running Fine, Keeping Good Time, And Should Provide Many More Years Of Excellent Service!!

The Dial is Nice & White with BIG, BOLD numerals.
The Cobalt Blue hands are in mint condition.
The subsidiary Minute Markers on the Montgomery Dial are in absolutely Mint condition!

With the Bezel off, you can see what Great shape the dial is really in!! There are NO Chips, Cracks, or anything else to mar its beauty!! At the 1:00 position, you can see the slightly bent lever that you pull out to set the time on the watch.

The covers fit together so well, that any space between the covers is almost imperceptible! There is not even any Brass showing anywhere on the Case! So the case is in excellent condition!!

The watch has not been abused in any way This movement is in excellent shape, as is further shown by the speed of the balance wheel, which is caught almost frozen by the high speed of the camera! If you take the time to really look at this movement, you will see that there is nothing at all wrong with it, no scratches, scraps, nicks, etc. It has a very nice Stripped Damaskeening & it runs even better then it looks! So all I can really say about the watch is that it is in Pristine condition!

A separate, close-up shot of the movement, where you can clearly see the Gold Center Wheel, the Gold Caps & Gold Jewel Settings & the Whip Lash Regulator for that very exact time setting!

The Balance Wheel has such great speed that it's simply a blur, even at the great speed the camera catches it at! You can also see the edge of the Gold Center Wheel, the Serial number, and that its adjusted to 5 Positions, plus Temperature & Isochronism.

The inside of the back cover of the case is in excellent shape and has the following written on it, "Fahys, Montauk & E.X.C.". E.X.C. is most likely the Case Makers initials, and at the bottom you'll see the case's serial number. You will also see quite a few initials of the Watch Makers who have worked on this fine time piece over the years!

The back of the case has a few scuff marks, but is generally very clean, especially since its over 90 years old! Remember, you are seeing the back of the case much larger than it actually is, so when you actually have the watch in your hands, especially after just having polished the case, it'll look like a beautiful piece of Railroad Horology!!

Well, that's all I can say. The Photos will tell you what you really want to know about the watch anyway, at least that's what I focus on first!

The price for this piece is $445

This Pocket Watch would make a very nice gift to that special someone, even if that "special someone" is you and your own collection!!
