A Civil War Locket
I have looked into the eyes of the solider in this locket many times and wondered what
his story was. The locket is gold and this man had his cheeks rouged and his buttons colored
to look like brass, so he could give it to his Mother, Girl friend, or Fiancée before
he went off the fight in the Civil War. I hope that he was able to return.
