Family Portrait From the 1700's
This gold locket (despite how the pictures look, it is gold) has the initials
N. E. Rogers engraved in a star burst with leaves on the front of the
locket and has a Rose star burst pattern on the back of the locket. The locket holds the
pictures of a full family, the Father, Mother, Sister, and Brother in it.
The Brother's picture has been cracked and you can see evidence of mold. But overall,
the locket has held up very well and clearly shows a proud and happy family. In fact,
they even went the extra mile and had their cheeks rouged and other colors added to
enhance the pictures. The locket opens by means of two buttons on the top of
the pendant. I would like to think that Mr. N. E. Rogers was a very proud man
to be able to afford to carry such a locket.
