Very Rare French Carriage Clock
With A Globe On The Dial
I had the NAWCC (National Asociation of Watch and Clock Collectors)
research this clock and they had only seen one other clock like it in all of
the clocks that they have seen. No one was sure of the significance of the globe on
the dial and it may be a piece of history that has been lost. The globe rotates
with the hands, so it may be a way to indicate the times in other areas of the
world, or it may just be decoration, no one is sure. The clock is circa 1870,
has an engraved silver dial, and a repeater button on the front.
